Blackened Tilapia


1 1/2 tsp paprika
1 1/2 tsp light brown sugar
1 tsp dried oregano
3/4 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp cumin
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp salt
4 6oz tilapia fillets
1 lime, cut into wedges
2 tbsp olive oil


Combine the paprika, brown sugar, oregano, garlic powder, cumin, cayenne, and salt together in a bowl. Adjust seasonings as desired and make sure there are no lumps of brown sugar. Sprinkle evenly over sides of tilapia.

Heat up the olive oil on a large non stick skillet on medium high heat. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until reddish brown on the outside and flaky on the inside. Serve with lime wedges, rice and vegetables.
