7 oz milk
7 oz whipping cream
1/2 tbsp gelatin powder
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 lb strawberries
2 tbsp water
1/3 cup sugar
Dissolve gelatin in 2 tbsp cold water and let sit for about 5-10 minutes.
In a medium sized pot, bring cream, milk, and sugar to a simmer on medium low heat. Do not allow to boil. When sugar is dissolved remove from heat and add vanilla extract. Cool for at least 5 minutes.
Add gelatin in the milk and stir until completely dissolved. Pour it into serving glasses and refrigerate until set, at least 4 hours.
Wash strawberries and drain very well. Remove leaves and cut into quarters. Put the strawberries, water and sugar into a small pot. Bring to a simmer and remove from heat immediately.
Pour into a blender and process until smooth. Pass through a strainer to remove residual seed from the sauce. Cover and let cool until room temperature. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
Before serving pour sauce over panna cotta.
