Mini Gyro Burgers



1/2 lb ground lamb
1/2 lb ground beef
3 oz bacon
1 tsp garlic, minced
2 tsp kosher salt
1/3 cup fine minced red onion
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp fresh ground black pepper
9 slider sized rolls
Pickled peperoncini

Tzatziki Sauce:

2 cups greek yogurt
1 cucumber, peeled and grated
2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
1 tbsp garlic, minced
2 tbsp olive oil
1 1/2 tsp fresh dill, minced


Mix together the Tzatziki sauce ingredients together in a bowl. Transfer to a sealed container and refridgerate for an hour.

Combine the lamb, beef, bacon, salt, red onion, oregano, and black pepper in a large bowl. Combine thoroughly. This can also be done in a food processor.

Form meat into 9 equal patties and prepare a grill pan on medium high.

Toast Buns first by placing them cut side down and cook until toasted. Place gyro patties on the grill pan and sear on both sides until cooked through, about 2 minutes per side.

Transfer patties to buns and top with tzatziki and peperoncini.
